How strange the sky!

As you are well aware all flights in a large part of NE Europe have been cancelled, due to volcanic ash sweeping in from Iceland.

But how very, very strange!

The afternoon sky over the UK was bright, sunny and very, very clear. The night sky saw more cloud coming in from the north, but between the clouds, crystal clear!

What was strange?

A 360 degree sweep in the day usually turns up 10-12 man-made objects – mostly high-altitude jets, some lower level local pilots and the occasional helicopter. Today – NOTHING!

At night, it’s normally more, due to their flashing lights. Tonight – NOTHING!

Is this the emptiest sky since before we were born? Qutie possibly.

How strange the sky!
