Wart cures.

A Dutch trial has found that cryotherapy is more effective than strong salicylic acid, which in turn is better that doing nothing or using a weaker over-the-counter salicylic acid, when it comes to common warts (on the hands and elsewhere). However, there is no difference between the 3 treatments for warts on the soles of the feet.

The strong salicylic acid was a 40% strength mix, compared to OTC medicines that average around 17%.

Cryotherapy was carried out every two weeks and the results were collected after 13 weeks.

The cure rate for cryotherapy at 13 weeks was 49%.

Those with warts for more than 6 months or longer and those aged 12 or older were less successful.
